Mélanie Rigaud
Instructeur de Pilates sol et machines mais également Educateur Sportif, je suis en mesure de vous proposer des cours de Pilates variés, adaptés à vos envies et vos objectifs sportifs !
I started my career as a lawyer, I've been swimming several times a week since childhood.
Suffering from serious back problems since the age of 27, I decided to take up Pilates on reformer in 2019, and it was a revelation! The pain gradually subsided, my spine regained flexibility and I felt like I was finally connecting with my body...
In 2021, convinced of the benefits of this practice, I decided to change my life and become a Pilates instructor.
After 900 hours of training at the Harmonie du corps studio in Marseille (member of the FPMP), I've been a Pilates instructor on the floor and on machines since July 2022.
At the same time, in order to be able to offer a wider range of classes to my clients, I decided to add to my skills by also becoming a sports educator.
Since April 2024, I have also been Rose Pilates certified, and am happy to accompany women suffering from breast cancer throughout their physical and psychological reconstruction through specific sessions.
My background
Why I love Pilates
Pilates is much more than just a sport; it's a discipline that enables you to get to know your body better, to strengthen it progressively and sustainably, while respecting its individual characteristics and daily shape.
Body awareness is the real plus of Pilates, in contrast to regular sports practice, where the main objective is to exercise while paying little attention to the body during workouts.
Pilates is a way of taking care of oneself in a holistic and not just physical way; it's a way of working the body and mind as a whole, producing considerable results and benefits: physical and mental well-being, overall strengthening of the body.
In my view, it can quickly become a habit, a progressive and ongoing way of improving posture in everyday life.
Unlike many sporting disciplines, Pilates is aimed at an extremely wide audience: children, retired people, keen athletes, sedentary people wishing to resume physical activity, people with pathologies... It's a perfect complement to other sporting practices!
